Fantasy art image tutorial using Gimp 2.10 and some G'mics.
The results are most often odd, unexpected and out of 10 tries like the example.
Should be very easy to go through.

Thanks Nidhogg for offering us this tutorial.
It's been added to our tutorial index.

Thanks Nidhogg for the new tut, I downloaded it.
At first glance I will not try to derive a filter from it (you know, I'm a filter man), because it is mainly based on Graphic Boost which -as you say- is so rich in G'mic subfunctions and parameters that it is by itself a filter to use directly.
We've lost a great G'mic interpreter since Photocomix disappeared.

Thanks Nidhogg for this tuto.
By scrupulously following your parameters, the first result with Tone mapping [Fast] and Linear RGB [All]. The second result with Tone mapping [Fast] and Lab (lightness) because the skin is a little dark

Thank you for aading it Wallace!
You're welcome dinasset. Yes graphic boost is very rich. We don't need a .py for this, I need to learn write myself python.
Nice first run level_0, I'm glad you hopped in the test wagon immediately.

Nidhogg, thank you so much for your detailed tutorial.
I like the effect a lot.
I didn't get the nice golden colour you have in your tutorial, I suppose each picture needs their adjust.
I followed each step and values to the first image.
I changed values to the second image.
I like both results, but a bit more, the second one.

You're welcome Issabella, looking nice.
You didn't get gold because the original (woman-1123645) wasn't colorful, and yes it depends on the source too.
I saturated before the process. I also added one copy of the saturated layer between the adjustment and the graphics boost layer in LCh hue mode. That kills some overly vivid (usually magenta) pixels off the image.

Thank you so much, Nidhogg for your correction and extra information. The image is much better just now.

This I prepared with one of the curve presets "Rainbow Gradient" from the big set that was originally put together by Sasquatch and later edited for 2.10.
