This is a long but hopefully fun tutorial on using a range of open-source programs to make comics from scratch. Enjoy!

Very nice tutorial Griatch. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Looks like their was much work involved in the completion of that one script. :)
It really surprised me to see you use Inkscape in your work.

Fantastic!

The only thing I see that needs work is the fingers, I watched a little of the speed paint here, but not to much, I'll watch it a little more later.

GT is up now again, sigh. I also added an alternative link to my tutorials to the top post.

I've been using Inkscape to and fro for many years. It's a wonderful piece of software for detailed maps, diagrams and blueprints. And, as seen, text. Never got into it for creating actual vector freeform art though.

Thanks Griatch for the tutorial..I may not make comics yet but I found it helpful in other ways for using the 3 programs. :)

That was really interesting and helpful, thanks. Now if I only had some talent I'd be set. I've been practicing lately, drawing eyes which have come out surprisingly not bad considering I was pushing the pencil. I've been watching some tuts on You tube about Illustrating/cartooning but they all use markers and I want to use my Bamboo. I've found out that there is a much bigger difference than I thought there would be. I've been using Gimp, Mypaint. Inkscape, and Artrage. I had never heard of Mypaint until you mentioned it here a while back but I really like it, thanks for the tip.

Hm, necro of the thread, but I find I still do comics in roughly the same way. While MyPaint is a given for sketching I'm considering using Krita for part of the workflow now.
