Very nice tutorial. I chose the Astronomy Picture of the Day and wanted a lot of it to show.

View the image I used here.

Sallyanne - very nice and the background colour goes really well with the text image.

they are very nice
but my personal taste is in favour of backgrounds not so solid in colour, in order to let transpare a little of the image also in the background zones (like in the post that initiated this new game)

edit: just to remember the starting point:

@dinasset - Thank you for the comment
I agree with you for a more soft mask but also depends of the image you have.

@Marcello
yes, that's true, if the image is more or less insignificant....
but I believe that most of the times the person who does this likes the photo itself, not only the overriding text.
I noticed that the first comment appearing on the original site Michael pointed to (thanks!) says:
"Hey,
To make the solid colour layer slightly transparent – adjust the opacity of the layer to around 90%, which will be a slider (out of 100) located in the layers toolbar.
Thanks,
Mike"
So, maybe, about all of the above "experiments" can be improved -according to my personal taste- by applying also this little modification.
Maybe someone will try to do it...

edit: obviously I know very well the words you put in your text, but you have to use "diritta" not "dritta"....hehehe!

About those woods is hard—so tangled and rough

Thanks Dinasset.
I'm already a great fan of V1 of that script.
I actually plugged it a few times in posts.
A few images contain results from it.
Due to time This is my best shot but another day I will post better.
Very cool spheres for GnuTux BRL script.
Diego Globe view is the key to a I'm working on.
Maybe I post it when finished.

Also between Diego Globe view and Graechans Manhattan script you can get some very cool mixes.
