I'm just curious to know if there are any tutorials on how to make a tablet in gimp. I've seen a computer monitor tutorial but there's not one for a tablet.

Do you mean a tablet,
that looks something like this?

Mackenzieh, I found a Photoshop tutorial to design a iPad.
Maybe you can try to recreate it in Gimp. That's what I sometimes try to do.
With varying success... :)

Thanks, Ella. I will try that and see what I come up with. :)

I would most likely go about this,
by making a series of beveled rectangle layers.
Of light and dark gray colors.

Then adding a light reflection over top of it.

Something like this.

Thanks Pat625.

:smiley2

It's just a few rectangle,
with an inner bevel applied to them.

Think so?

I'm in the process of designing a military grade tablet.
Which should be a challenge.
So keep your eyes peeled for what's to come.

Here's my attempt at an ipad minus the buttons. I admit that got lazy but at least I tried. I used the iPad Air template that gimp has.
Image

The tutorial I followed was this one: http://icanbecreative.com/article/how-t ... -tutorial/

Good attempt.
Although,
it seems as though you didn't include,
any of the bevels and gradients.
Which were used in the tutorial you followed.

:hoh

I tried the bevels and gradients using the layerfx.scm file since the layerfx.py doesn't work well with gimp 2.10.6. Also bevel selection doesn't seem to do much.

My home button looks different, it's all black with a white line making a square shape in the middle. Also, the black sides are more narrow then the top and bottom.
