If you want to let the selection you made to an image stand out, you may do:
0.(assuming you did the selection already)
1.dupl
icate the image (to let the source be used again and compare results)
2.duplicate tha layer (base for the effect)
3.duplicate the base to have a working later
4.add alpha channel (if not there)
5.cut (the selected area will be cleared)
6.invert the selection
7.apply a well striped gradient, like Shadow1 for instance, but Mandelbulb types are even better if you have some, using shape conical (sym), starting from the centre of the selection
8.set opacity to 75.0, layer mode to LINEAR_BURN
9.new layer from visible
10.apply a Circular Motion Blur
(angle around 10; set X and Y to centre your selection)11.new layer from visible
12.apply a Zoom Motion Blur
(blurring around 0.35; set X and Y to centre your selection)13.increase brightness and contrast (around +10, +25)
That's it.
Just another way to "evidence" the selected area (there are many...).
Example (not the best one, just one, you could do it better).
