That would be a vertical situation.
Transformed into the most horizontal image position for the lightning bolt animation layers.

Excellent tutorial Wallace. Will have to try this one at some point. Any link for Will's Script Pack? Looks like I have that script pack, but mine only has "Wave Tank", which incidentally, doesn't work on my 2.6.11.

There is a link in the video description @ youtube for the 'Lightning Bolt Script'.

I replaced my wave tank script, and it's working now. Yee haw.

Thanks Wallace, got it. By the way, the "Combine Background / Overlay Background Script" link isn't working. I found it though. Thanks again, appreciate it.

When you rotate the layer 90°, how did you get all the layers to rotate? When I rotate one, just that one rotates, not all of them. Thanks.

Good question... ;) You have to use 'Image'> transform, not 'Layer transform' to have all the layer rotate.

Don't beat yourself up over this, it's all good. We all make mistakes. Don't we? :hehe

Simmer down, Warrior. ;)

Very cool tut Wallace. Although too big to use, I applied your tutorial to my sig. Here's the result:

Yes I see what your saying?!...
Sorry for your results. :( Nonetheless I still don't see why this wouldn't work, in your scale. I have to look into this ASAP.

It's not that it wouldn't work in the scale. My sig was made bigger originally, then reduced in size to meet the sig requirements. That was the original size of it. Easier for me to see when it's larger. I would have to reduce the size of each layer. Any one button do that?

You've already taken down that puppy to it's limits. If I were you, I'd use what you have so far and, in the meantime. Look into honing your signature and avatar, as best as it can be.

Or you could totally, leave it where it is and forget about the whole thing altogether.
Your decision entirely. :hehe

I'm glad you mentioned that.
It is a beginner's tutorial, truly. It was designed to invoke a link of 'learning experience' to the use of the Combine/Overlay animation script that was used.
My humble demonstration, in this type of tutorial, will go a long way... In real Gimpers young mindes.
I'm solidifying our Gimpinig future by showing such a tutorial.

I'll need to give this a shot too. Dammit, you really need to not give me so many ideas to do things. I just got done with that slideshow and now this.

And a good one at that. You were the one that told me about the combine feature. Man oh man, if only I knew about that feature early on. It would be nice if there were other such features that could be applied to all frames at once. Such as crop, resize, etc. When I made the lightening animation last night, I had to add a layer the size of the inner "ring", alpha to selection, invert the selection, the go on each layer and clear the rest out, so the lightening would be confined within those boundaries.
