I just spent a day recording and testing all GIMP 2.8 shortcuts that I could find. I've posted various tables of them at GIMP 2.8 Shortcuts. I learned some cool new shortcuts I wasn't aware of before.

If you see anything incorrect or anything I've missed, please let me know.

Keep Calm and GIMP On!

Debi

Wow Debi, thanks for the comprehensive list. I love keyboard shortcuts and have made many of my own using Alt + Numbers (across top of keyboard) and Alt + Numpad. I've attached my list because I don't think there's a way to make a table in here. To make new keyboard shortcuts select Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts in Gimp. It's pretty self explanatory about how to do it.

Probably the two I use most often are Alt + 9 - Autocrop Layer and Alt + 8 Layer to image size.

I've attached a pdf document of my personal Alt + #'s below. It is my list and others may wish to make their own, but it does give an example of possibilities. When you stop and think about it, that makes 20 Alt keyboard shortcuts you can make. I haven't used all of them yet.

Good job Debi! Thank you.
Bookmark this page, gimp users, and use Oregonian's PDF when offline :bigthup

There is a couple of more keyboard/mouse combinations that I use extensively and
probably worth mentioning (sorry, if I missed that in your tables)

Spacebar + mouse drag - to pan the image view (esp. useful at large zoom)
Shift + Paintbrush tool - to draw straight lines
Shift+Ctrl+Paintbrush tool - to draw straight lines with 15 degree increment constraint
Ctrl+gradient tool - 15 degree increment constraint

Mouse scroll wheel - with the mouse pointer over image tabs (when working with multiple images in single-window mode - gimp2.8)
navigate through images by scrolling up/down.
The same operation works with docked tabs (layers, channels, patterns, brushes, etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions. :bigthup I've added some tables about mouse hover and scroll-wheel shortcuts. I'm considering also adding tool shortcuts, but it depends on how complicated that gets.

Keep Calm and GIMP On

This one is fairly complete if you want to cross reference.
