Well, I tried running some of those photos through this filter and these are the results. I left the ink washed layer in place and tried a few different things with the color layer in an attempt to get the effect I was looking for.

This got me un-confused. After I posted about finding it, I read AeonTown's post so I started checking my system and discovered I somehow had two versions of GMIC. I cleaned everything out and went and got the current .deb package for my system and installed it, which placed the filters in Presets/Testing. Then I clicked the Refresh button and they moved to Artistic. Odd seeming behavior, but at least everything stopped jumping around. I'm not saying this has anything to do with Molly's missing filters, it was just a weirdness I encountered.

GnuTux, your camellias look - is "impressionistic" the right word? Very nice!

2-ton, that's a very cool effect. My two kittens are too noisy to be mistaken for spectres.

GnuTux your flowers are beautiful. I particularly like that camellia bush. The upper right corner looked kind of bright so I put some sky behind it. Don't know if I helped or messed it up though. I didn't like the ink wash filter on the sky so I used the Graphic Novel FX filter on it.

Thanks! That's better. The sky in my original picture is totally washed out.

I fixed Rhododendron#1 back in that post. I got a nicer result by using ink wash on a layer that had the GMIC paint filter previously applied.

Your re-do on rhododendron #1 is spectacular! It would be gorgeous printed on artist canvas and framed to put on the wall.

To clear a bit the confusion about jumping filters:
when you install last stable version of Gmic (1.4.7.1)they are under Preset/testing, because that version was compiled before the changes

At soon you refresh filter gmic (if you are connected to the net) will (except for some hidden detail) basically update to the next incoming version where the new versions of the already tested filter are moved in the proper menu, and the new version are modified to support transparency and multiple input/output

New version are identical to what i posted here lately except that the version i posted here were compatible with older version, while
that from the update will REPLACE the old version and they may be renamed as BW Ink Wash for Ink Wash and Graphic Boost for PhotoComix Graphic boost, and moved out of the testing menu

Last if you had paste the versions i posted here in a .gmic file, you have not to worry ;
you would have a couple of clones but are not conflicting, you may delete the clone from the .gmic file but if you don't would be no
issue except 2 equivalent version of the same filter showing twice, on top where are the faves, and in the normal menu
