Well surprisingly Gollum has decided to leave the deserts around Uluru and he has moved on further north to the prime wetlands of Kakadu National Park. He apparently enjoys the Australian wildlife and wants to bond with the local fauna there.

Unfortunately Gollum cannot read and it may be that his first attempt at bonding with the locals is not such a good choice ...

@Marcello - I am pleased you are enjoying Gollum in OZ and I have a few more places for him to visit here yet.

Then maybe, I will look at some of my European holiday photos and see if he should travel there too!! ;)

Once again the wizard Gandalf protected Gollum from the crocodiles in the river and he came to no harm while he was fishing!

But Gollum does keep on the move and he has now visited Katherine Gorge, where he really enjoys exploring the various caves along the river and meeting new animal friends, like the Black-Palmed Rock Monitor in this photo.

I'm glad to see he's enjoying his vacation. A well-deserved one, I might say after having to put up with those two Hobbits for several weeks.

Gollum has obviously developed a liking for the national parks in the Northern territory and the wildlife he finds therein. He has now moved on to Litchfield National Park and was wandering in one of the rainforest gullies when he suddenly came face to face (well sort of !) with a Golden Orb Weaver spider. Although he is used to giant trolls and the like in Middle Earth, it seems that this confrontation shocked him somewhat ...

I was lucky enough to have a Golden Orb Weaver spider in my back yard between two trees, and she was beautifull

I am in agreement with you. I might live in Australia but I don't like spiders either.

We passed on the arachnophobic fears of Sallyanne and Molly to Gollum and asked if he would please not send any more spider photos for posting.

Gollum is still in the Litchfield National Park but also wants to return to the Kakadu wetlands. In the meantime he has come across another local phenonomen in the giant termite mounds and guess what, he scaled one and met one of its creators right at the top ...

Thanx OMG.

Termites are ok if they stay in their outside houses that they build themselves.
It's only when they invade our homes that they become a problem.

Sallyanne The termites that can invade your house are not the native Giants that built this Cathedral Mound

OK Sallyanne we have told Gollum "no more arachnids, no more insects"!!

Gollum's touring group were up late last night, like many others, celebrating Australia's great win in the Asian Football (soccer) Championship. They looked around after the game and realised that Gollum was missing. They looked everywhere they could but it was dark of course and had no luck; so they sent out a search party early this morning and found him.

However, it looks like the pull of the 'ring' has got to him once again. He was found on a rocky outcrop mumbling and scuffling around in the sand, watched by a bemused rock wallaby and her joey in the pouch.

I'm surprised the ring didn't give him away at night. Looks like it glows?

Ah Sallyanne, only Gollum can actually see the ring! We are lucky though that GIMP technology allows it to be made visible in photographs!! ;)

OMG, I have to say something on this topic, otherwise you have the right to be upset with me; you've been so kind with me (and my script) and I do not partecipate to your adventure, very bad behaviour!
Well, the problem -my problem- is that I personally do not like "little monsters" like Gollum (or E.T.); I know, it's my problem, everyone else in here will blame me...
Thus, forgetting for a while the "personage", let me tell you I consider your photo manipulations really excellent, and your phantasy and creativity outstanding: great job!
