N-ice! It's making me look forward to Christmas already.

Thanks Erisian; meant to have the ice look like it was drooling on a window pane but couldn't get the pane to look right; what a pain. lol

lylejk: very cool indeed (i can make bad puns just as well as you and erisian)! that image just begs for blue and turquoise, by the way - do you feel at all inspired to make a second version?

Maybe later AnMal. About to get ready for a job interview with Kohl's for a seasonal min. wage job that will hopefully slow down the decay of my savings. If I get it, it will only be a 2 month gig unfortunately, but I have to try anyway. Wish me luck. :)

Good luck with that Lyle. We know what it is to need money!

Well; just got back. It was a group interview of a total of 4 (the 5 person didn't show up). Not tough but I have zero retail experience and the 3 ladies were working it for years. lol

Oh well; even if I get the seasonal job, I wouldn't start until November. Hope something else presents itself before that commit. I'm fine for now (Dad took care of me from the grave) but I won't be if I don't get some form of work soon. Not pushed to be a beggar just yet. :)

OK; this one's for AnMal (and it's a PNG w/ transparent background since I'm lousy with panes; lol). :)

lylejk: erisian told me about that ice text when i was deep in the mists of migraine - it's lovely! just the right shades :). thank you soooo much, lyle, i hope you don't mind if i use that as my sig when winter comes?

No problem at all AnMal. Got the Kohl's job too I might add (well, after they drug test me and I pass criminal background check, and, I will). Barring anything from left field, I'll be starting on the 26th. :)

My sympathies, lol....I work retail and have for many years. It's fun to meet all the customers but it's also frustrating to try and do your job when corporate makes it nigh on impossible with their rules...like now, we are limited on hours but they keep pushing more on us to get done, and also take care of the customers. So we just put customers first and the rest will just have to wait. Hopefully you have a lot of patience, as there is that 1% of customers that will require it.

I'm working freight so hopefully my exposure will be little, but, as the boss man told us, freight's maybe 1 to 1.5 hours so I will be on the floor for a short time. Since there's no way I will be getting an 8 hour day, I hope to be leaving by the time folks actually shop (6 to 10 is the goal; lol). In the meantime, I hope that International Paper or TSA give me the opportunity to have a more fulfilling job. It more than likely won't happen so if I get more than 28 hours/week, that would be a blessing; it would mean, of course, the probability of me having to interact with customers will go up exponentially. lol

I'm good with people though so hopefully there won't be too many fires to put out. :)

As high as turnover is, also employee theft and firings from no-show and etc, you just might get enough hours to tide you over until you get a better job.

That would be nice 2-ton; only 3 miles from home too. :)
