No frowns in misery 3 - Dance in Rain

"What are you DOING?" the innkeeper, Sophine, called from the door.

Out in the courtyard, the Jester was twirling and dancing in an intricate dance all to herself. The rain was pouring down.

"I'm dancing?" the Jester answered, quizzingly. She clearly thought the question strange.

"But it's raining! Come back in right away!", Sophine called.

"Which inn do you think people will want to go to", the Jester asked, and spun so water flew in all directions, "A regular inn, or the inn so merry folk are dancing in the rain outside it? Think about it."

"They'll want an Inn without a Jester sniveling because she caught a cold", Sophine said.

"Details", said the Jester and danced on. "You know I'm right."

In the end it turned out they were both right.

Made for the RAP with the theme 'dancing in the rain'. I have an older series of images called "No frowns in misery" featuring my Jester character being all wet and cold yet happy anyway.
This ended up fitting that. The Jester can't be denied!

Done with simple brushes, over some 8 hours. Comments and feedback welcome as usual!

Update: After feedback, I made some changes to the hand and also updated skin shading a little. Thanks! (old version)

I was going to make an appraisal without my customary remarks... but on second thought, the hand above the head is a bit big, and its position (thumb in opposition) doesn't fell very relaxed.

But hats off to the rain and the atmosphere in general.

Good points! I have gone back and shrunk the hand a little and also repositioned the thumb somewhat. I don't think the hand needs to be relaxed though, who knows what the dance requires. I have also done some updates to the sleeve and skin at the same time.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, very useful!

Cool work indeed. I like how the hair has gotten into thicker clumps like it does in rain.
I'm giving it gold despite the official wet t-shirt competition rules were not followed.

Wow, Griatch; you managed to render rain spot on. Excellent work as usual for your heroine, too. :)

It's always exciting to see your more recent contributions flourish in substance and style. :hi5

Yeah, hair strands behave more like big clumps when wet (or fatty). As for the 'wet-tshirt effect', I realize I could certainly have made this image a lot more explicit than it is, had I wanted to ;)

Thanks! I'm not sure if she's a 'heroine' or not honestly - that bit's up in the air in most of these snippets of stories :)

That was the goal, glad you like it!

I try, thanks. Images like this do need a bit of story told though, I feel - just to give some context to what the heck is going on.
