I've copied and heavily modified the old JVID_L
(which aims at creating a fake watercolour painting). It is a work-in-process piece of code.
I post here some outcomes during the process.
For today, after many trials, I post these:

That's a great effect. Looks like a cross between pastels and watercolours.
Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:55 am
Thanks Erisian for your comment.
Yes, started from a watercolours process it is really approaching pastels.
Maybe we have to "invent" a new term at end, if it does not evolve decidedly towards one or the other "style"...
Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:57 am
Well the "term" is already available: watercolor pastels.
So, I will use that term for my WIP.

Happy for the new name, here my first outcome (no changes in the process, just in the name) of a
Watercolor Pastel painting

The process of the filter is done in such a way that the user has great possibilities of customizing not only the parameters when launching the process but also the outcome afterwards altering in some way layers (each layer is contributing to the outcome).
Just some examples:
- setting all the layers to HSV_VALUE
- 2023-09-25 08-08-42 beautiful-2359121_1920 with a Watercolor Pastels Effect 2023 (5.0,75.0,32.0,True) ALL-LAYERS-HSV-VALUE.jpeg (417.9 KiB) Viewed 2035 times
- setting the aquarel texture at 100% opacity
- 2023-09-25 08-08-42 beautiful-2359121_1920 with a Watercolor Pastels Effect 2023 (5.0,75.0,32.0,True) AQUAREL-TEXTURE 100.jpeg (660.91 KiB) Viewed 2035 times
- setting DREAMY ABSTRACT at 100% opacity

As I did in the old JVID_L/LA filter, I added here the possibiity to "age" the outcome.
Here you see:
-the result without the ageing step

-the result ageing the outcome at 75%

Both results are realistic and very nice. To my eyes the ageing one is even more real. Well done Dinasset.

Still work-in-process...
