You can't even know how much you make me happy, dear Issabella, with your outcomes, not only because they are all very nice but especially because you are able to create wonderful portraits, la bête noire of any artificial (digital) manipulation of woman faces.
Thanks, thanks, thanks ! ! !

Everything I am seeing looks very beautiful. I'll try to find some time to get these set up on my Linux system to test it.

Wow - don't time zones make a difference ... I went to bed last night struggling to get some 'mosaic' ideas to work and woke up this morning to a whole new world of multiple Free Painting Outcomes. Well done Diego and Issabella.

OMG, Mahvin Thanks a lot. Dinasset has worked hard to get this jewel.

dinasset, thank you for considering my earlier remarks about transforming digital camera portraits. This is the first image I've done with Free Painting and the first transformation version of this particular picture that I really like. Most of the other scripts/presets/plugins I went through so emphasized the slight color change at her nose that it looked genuinely horrible. I am not artistically adept enough by hand or eye to make effective retouching changes myself, so I really depend on what software can produce for me.
Not long ago I thought Aquerelle PlusPlus2 produced some of the best painting emulation outcomes I had seen. It appears Free Painting will offer even more possibilities. And I am certainly smiling at the very thought. It's nice to see attractive images on the screen.
So, dinasset, Issabella, Mahvin and Ella: How to thank you all for your collaboration? Perhaps a nomination for a Nobel Peace of Mind Prize for Advances in Open-Source Gratis Digital Portraiture Arts? It'll be new category but I'll see what I can do.

Goodmorning to all, Buongiorno Diego,
After a lot of practice, trying, failing and help from Diego, these are my first outcomes.
I still get error messages but the filter seems to work.
Issabella, so many beautiful outcomes

You must have spent a lot of time on it.
Neurolurker, very delicate woman's face. I like it very much.
Diego, thank you for the filter and the help.

Thanks Ella.
Please, tell me which errors do you get, this can be helpful for me and other people.

It is possible that you currently do not succeed in starting the appropriate preset.
I'd like to see a face by you as Neurolurker did.

dinasset, your confinement was beneficial for creation!
Issabella, again you are the complement of dinasset

Thanks Ella, very nice images, particularly the second one, for me.
Because of the effects that the "displace selection" creates sometimes (look at the third one) I'm preparing another preset, called "portraitB" which creates more delicate outcomes, so that the user may choose between them, according to the personal taste.
Have a look in a few minutes to the updates under "Free Painting" thread (under Scripts&Plug-ins).

For this time, let me "veer" to the use of a brush-texture which underlines clearly the painting strokes.

(too "hard"?)

Neurolurker, Level, Ella, thank you so much for your kind comments.
Neurolurker, A great start in your post.
Ella, your first posted images in this thread, and they are really beautiful.
Diego, your filter is wonderful and makes a notable difference. Your filter becomes normal pics in ART!!!!!!
Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:28 am
Great Job, Diego! Erisian has good reason to worry! LOL
Issabella, you're like a pro with these.
Sun Jun 07, 2020 11:49 am
Dinasset, thank you so much for another awesome artistic plug-in.
I like your preset folders method that allows us to use our own patterns.
First test run using the main filter with canvas bg, will test more later.
Great outcomes people, I like especially Ella Louise's summerfield and Leopard, they look very realistic.
