Those are nice, Wallace. How does one go about making a glassy map?

Some of the maps I made were taken for images I found doing a google search.
Some are from images of gems and others are of colored glass.
I usually scale the image into an even square, if needed.
Then us the
select tool to select the map I want for the image.
Adding an alpha channel to the image and removing the outer portion of the image.
Then save the orb as a .png image.
There's also a script called Globe View, that can make images to be used as e-maps.
There's also an Environment Rendering script that can create maps from gradients.
With the Globe View script,
you can use any photo to make an e-map form.
If you're looking to make glass e-maps,
you will need to create images, or use images with very contrasting colors, with well defined highlights.

Anmal - thank you .... you do realise that you are leading me astray
2-ton - any time!
Wallace - could not get your maps to display (GIMP CHAT has been very slow this week) but I downloaded them anyway.

What do you mean by "Display", there's nothing to display with an attachment, you just download them.?

Wallace - the thread just hung on your post with the image just showing the top of the spheres; I tried to view it a half dozen times with the same result - so I just downloaded the file from the link which was visible.
Whatever, i used the e-maps and they are excellent, so thanks for posting them.

oldmangrumpy wrote:OK so yes I said no more posts to this thread
But with Wallace providing some new glass emaps, blame him or Pat or Anmal or even Ofnuts whose path decoration tool I was using for these images or anybody
And yes I realise that these are not even ornaments but something perhaps from a dream sequence ...
I must say...
You're one heck of a creative glass making Aussie beaver, if there is such a thing.

Sorry Wallace there's no beavers in Australia. I think the closest thing to a beaver would be the platypus. Maybe a busy bee or as busy as an ant?
OMG is definitely creative though.
@ OMG they are beautiful mandalas.
