It's one of those things where I need to know what I am doing, before I can do it. Otherwise, I'll screw everything up.

I haven't got round to examining the sculpture generator code in detail, but it looks like svg output isn't going to work.

But as it produces STL files, which are a 3D description I wondered if there would be a converter to make them usable in POV-Ray (there is: http://rsmith.home.xs4all.nl/software/#stl2pov)

That then led me to http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/slicingstl where they use STL into POV-Ray then onto a 3D fabrication printer to make the actual sculptures in sugar: http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/sugarsculpt

Success, finally! Got the GLC-Player installed and working.

I'll need to check it over a little bit before I submit anything significant. The PNG files are HUGE when saving. 1.4 meg for a 800 x 600? Wow! JPGs were 330k.

Yeah i know.I was also saving the screenshots as jpg at 1024x768 and they were a lot smaller. :)
What i like is you can save a bunch of multishots at once and then choose which ones you like better.
Then just delete the rest.Open them in Gimp and save as PNG.Probably a lot smaller that way.

I always open them in RIOT myself. That program gets the file size down for you quickly with hardly any notice in quality. What i like about RIOT is you can input the size you want, and RIOT will try and get it there with the best quality.

A small hint about multishots - i used 4 for speed length, and 25 for shots and it still looks pretty good, as a GIF.

I am still trying to figure out how to add shadow to the effect.

This is 25 frames set at 100ms each with a (red bg set in GLC player). Size is 540 kb

I did nothing but open it in Gimp as layers, save it as a GIF. :)
I love simplicity.

How do you set the background color on GLC when viewing models? I see how to change it when saving the model as an image or multishots.

Thanks to Rod for finding and sharing the GLC Player. It's pretty cool.

This was fun! I was taking advantage of a screen preview glitch and recorded this on Sculpture Generator. See my mouse clicking? Hehehe... I did cut out the start and stop frames that showed me starting and ending, and left the middle frames only.
