I like that a lot Tux. looks good fits the theme and lots of stix to rub together. It is also very realistic.

Thanks AnMal and it may change yet again if we decide to add animation to the scene.
Everything that's been added thus far, has really helped to bring the scene together.

I wanted to add one of my favorite "songs". Btw, I don't know how to zip a file, so I had to upload the full xcf.

Nativity_Scene 19.xcf
Had to put the donkey back in the scene.

You have all done a great job. I was waiting, for the donkey and sheep.
A couple times I thought about adding some myself but knew you would and besides can do it better.
I had to put the donkey back, so made the canvas wider

This is a scaled down version of the "Nativity Scene". I had to use "photobucket.com" to be able to post it here.
I think it doesn't look all that good due to the scaling down.

It probably doesn't look as good Wallace but I still like the effect. I think you've done a really good job and so has everybody else involved. This is a lovely animation!

Thanks Eris, we all worked really hard to pull this image together, I hope the others will like it too.

Maybe you guys can go on google docs and make a workspace there or something.

Good suggestion, maybe you could help us out with that?

molly: again, thanks for starting this :). i loved doing my bit and have really enjoyed watching it come to life.

others who participated: :hi5 good job we did, all of us!

I still have the full version, but don't know how I would get it to everyone.

Y'all can email me the full size image via admin at gimpchat dot com and I can ftp the image to the site.

The loss in quality is more likely due to the fact that it's been converted to a gif (to support animation) than due to resizing. When you convert to gif, you are limited to 256 colors and dithering goes out the window.

The full size version looks much better than the scaled down version.
Anyway... where can I find the email address to send the full size image to?

There's not much to it. If you got a google email (and who doesn't have a google email nowadays) you got access to all the google stuff, this includes google drive and shared docs. Which means anyone you designate can share into a document. This can be an xcf for gimp purposes. Makes swapping it back and forth so much easier, you can even upload/share all the different versions. Google drive comes with like 15 gigs of free storage. It works like dropbox and those kinds of apps.

I posted the email address ^^ .

When the animation is viewed from within GIMP, it's still at hi-color so dithering remains intact. What I'm saying is that when it's exported as a gif, it's converted to 256 colors and quality suffers dramatically, especially on an image with so many colors. Much of the subtle dithering will get tossed, no matter the size of the image.
