- all these outcomes were generated with the above specified preset, no further "adjustment".
- not all source images which I used to experiment this preset produced good results (I discarded half of them)
and finally: obviously it is always a decision taken according to my own taste.

In this afternoon I decided to focus my attention on cityscapes.
For this type of images I chose to use the preset Canny Edges (16) for contours and Cartoon (1) for poster.
The last layer mode used is the standard (as released) GRAIN_MERGE.

Notes on the experiments using cityscapes:
- results look always good to me (I discarded some results mainly because for my experiments I decided to use very small images -width 640- which caused sometimes lack of enough details).
- with the preset used, the standard (i.e. as it is in the released filter) mode for the last (sketch) layer is effective.
