With some BRL results you can invert the colour and still receive a pleasing outcome, as in this case whereby inversion of an originally blue patterned image delivers some credible crucible like shapes.

Interesting work OMG. I like the bowl of apples. The lighting (a window) on the apple is different from the shade on the bowl. Also the pattern on the bowl could curve around a bit more. The eye is a terrible critic which is what scares most people away from photorealism. You are brave to attempt it.
