An illustration inspired by "The Forest Has Eyes". This will be an illustration for chapter 38 or 39, in which Mara, the protagonist of book II, learns to converse with the trees. Much of the chapter revolves around the trees giving Mara a bad time for having poor grammar. Trees are very particular about grammar. Every time someone confuses "your" and "you're", an oak curses humanity.

Looks like a promising start! I like the leftward slant of the trees too, gives an effect of wind from the left.

Those faces all seem to be accusing.

I think your sketching has improved a lot from the first time I saw it!

Thanks :) I lost count of the number of faces.

Yes... That's definitely the wind

Actually I like the effect myself, but it was totally an accident. Maybe "unintended" is the right word.

Fun fact: I have a lectern that has a Cintiq-like screen built in. It's pretty neat. I use it in place of a white board for my classes. In fact, it's made by Wacom - but the resolution is terrible, and the screen is angled terribly. It's nearly horizontal, so whenever I write it looks like I'm conducting a little orchestra. I think it encourages bad habits when it comes to drawing, though.

She just ended a sentence with a preposition.

They're just fussy.
