Wallace has some path tool skills !

Do you use a grid and spirals or is it all free hand ?

Btw, these spirals and flourishes are a lot more easily done in Inkscape with the Bezier Tool in Spiro-Spline mode.

For the most part,
I do it freehand and only use guides for the straight runs of paths,
where I feel it's needed.

You're right about Inkscape.
I've used it to create glyphs for a font I made.
Then imported them into Fontforge.
The font is loosely based on the handwriting style,
of cartoonist Robert Crumb.

Very nice, Wallace. Did you used Paths or you have swirl brushes you created?
This are really good for simple Wedding invitations. :yes
