Post subject:  Introducing Rangil
Erisian will do anything for the woman who gets him his coffee in the mornings, so I asked him to make a dream come true for me. Not a daydream, an actual dream I had the other night. I dreamed I was an underwater creature with nearly translucent skin and green veins, happily exploring the depths of the ocean and all the fantastic old shipwrecks and coral structures and stuff. I'm not doing much digital painting at the moment (other projects take up my time right now) and I doubted my own ability to paint anything even remotely like that creature, so I asked Erisian to paint it for me - and here he is. I named him Rangil and he is now representing me here on Gimp Chat :). Erisian didn't want to post the ful-size version of Rangil himself (no doubt a bit embarrassed by his wife's silly ideas), so I did it for him!

Hope to see more of your and Erisian's creations. Some of our greatest creations come from dreams.
Unlike an Anmal to not have a pailsley somewhere though.

AnMal, that is a beautiful story about having the man of your dreams paint your dreams upon your beckoning. And so close to Valentine's Day! Would make for a splendid Valentine. Who says they all have to be red?

Thanks everyone :)! And a happy Valentine's day to all of you - hope you feel appreciated by eachother here on GC and by other people in your life! I am unhappy with all my Gimp stuff of late, and it's only reading through Gimp Chat posts and seeing your inspiring creations and experiments that makes me feel tempted to try again. That's how important other gimpchatters are to me, so here's to you all :hi5

sallyanne: Thank you :)! I guess I used up all the paisleys on my Valentine's card for Erisian... :hehe

Pat625: I agree, strange as it seems it would make for a lovely Valentine and they certainly don't all have to be red. There is definitely a lot of love in the Rangil picture, love for me as well as love for art and imagination.

Issabella: Thank you! I think he did a great job - must be hard to paint someone else's dreams :). A very happy Valentine's day to you too!

Anmal - Aaaah! That is very nice for you both. But I have a character Heketoro who is now somewhat jealous of Rangil. He may make an appearance soon :hehe

Anmal - Heketoro is a tattooed warrior chief from the South Pacific and whilst a little jealous of Rangil, he just wanted to say hello ;)

OMG: Oh I love Heketoro's tattoos! :jumpclap Rangil says hi back, but he's confused as to why a warrior chief would be jealous of him. "Is it the webbed hands and feet?" he wonders. Rangil loves his seaweed and coral reefs, but he secretly thinks that if he was standing among green paisley leaves he wouldn't be jealous of anyone at all...
