Here is my first experiment using One by Wacom purchased 2 weeks ago.
First I tried Superhero character called Tony Toaster,
but realized soon it would be way too hard to begin with a human figure.
But he shall be done later, because the idea was super goofy. He's got massive toaster hands
made of vibranium-graphene compound that work like hammers against the villains.
One of the special moves is to flat the enemy between the toasters, put him in and eject into outer space :hehe
For the good and the poor he's shooting free bread.
He also carries a ferminator back pack where he collects waste and street thrash
to create electricity for the toasters.

So I was pondering what to draw.
This Monday I had to re-create family coat of arms for one client because the original was so bad.
It had a tree in the middle of shield, and that seemed like easy enough opening subject.

First I drew the black edges on one layer,
then all the coloring was done on another layer.
Brush 2 Hardness 075, size 3-4px and eraser were the only tools used.

Guess around 6 hours spent, the leaves worked like a practice to see how hand works.
The inability to rotate canvas seems to be no problem, but I don't rotate real paper either. Do you?
Looks a bit dead, maybe I have guts for animal or something more challenging next time.
See ya, it's storming here in Finland!

May I give you my pence?
Remember that in a tree the leaves are also in front of the branches, and not all behind...

Reminds me of the Nursery Rhyme "On Yonder Hill There Stands a Tree..."

It was also song.

Of course you can. It was deliberate decision to leave all branches visible, but you're right it would have looked better.
I will keep that in mind.

Thank you for compliment Nelo & Pocholo.

Mine was a compliment, but you see, I am OLD. I do things the OLD way. <wink>

Artistically, the tree looks great. Enough so, I revisited my youth and remembered an old song/rhyme.

So thank YOU for sharing it.

That suits very well, it is like a kid drawing.
Had to check the rhyme out.
Thanks for compliment mahvin.

Lovely work Nidhogg. It has a really cool illustrative look. Actually, I do sometimes rotate paper when I am drawing and painting but it's too much hassle to rotate the canvas when I am digital painting. I can't get used to memorizing lots of key combinations and I don't have a mouse.

Thank you Teapot & Erisian, appreciate.
It was little awkward in the beginning, not with the drawing tablet but using keyboard.
I configured some shortcuts like zoom out, zoom in, brush, eraser and switch foreground/background color next to each other.
Autumn is my favorite time of year, and it's shining so I am going out for the day to get inspired.

One thing is strange though. The pen tip. It turned out flat and needs to be replaced already.
If they wear out this fast, I'm gonna need tens of tips because there was only 4 in the package.

Have a great day friends, and keep Gimping on!
