It's been a while since I did a straight stipple (thanks again to Voronoi Stippler). For the curious, there's exactly 12000 dots. My challenge to you is to prove me wrong. lol

Lyle, the tiger is so neat! Beautiful! How did you do that?

Thanks Pat. Cannot seam to find the original thread where I used Voronoi Stippler. Still, a log of help can be gleaned from the Traveling Salesman Problem thread: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1128&hilit=voronoi

Also this thread: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13255&hilit=voronoi+stippler

Unfortunately, Saliences site no longer exists; still there's plenty of stippler programs out there; below's one such place. :)

Pat, you may also use the standard GIMP (Gegl) Newsprint to get very interesting results.
Play with parameters and mode.

Thank you, Lyle and Dinasset! I will look up the info from both of you and see what I can do.

Hi Pat,
You can also try this:

Old plug, but still works for Gimp-2.10.30

@MareroQ

I must have missed that plugin first time round ;) Anyway, using Kubuntu 20.04 / Gimp 2.10.30 (from PPA) / voroni-stippler (...gets migrated from previous machine to new...to...)

Your plugin 0.2 version working very well Some output with snipped of source image https://i.imgur.com/uGd3KLC.jpg

Hi Rich,

Glad you ran it on Linux (I failed in Ubuntu :hoh ).
Can You include the used voroni-stippler files?

Surething, I have various files going back but this is what I am using.
the 6 libboost files go in usr/lib
voronoi-stippler goes in usr/bin (or install them somewhere else and use symlinks to usr/lib & usr/bin)
Other than that, run in a terminal and check for other dependencies.

Circlism Variation

Thought I would run 3 size passes using the preceding mask of one result as a mask for the next. Still a work in progress. Just had an epitome (tried this before; guess I have a clearer mind now; lol). No where near Ben Heine's work, but he places the dots manually and I'm just too d@mn lazy to do so. lolololololol

:)

Indeed it does, and very nicely too!

Linux user here: voronoi_stippler accepts decimal input for option -z, so PF_FLOAT instead of PF_INT.

Didn't feel like starting another thread; just sharing yet another result (w/ after effect tweaks; it's what I do) using G'MIC's new Packed Ellipses preset. :)
