garagecoder just released a cool preset for G'MIC called Threshold Etch (very similar to PostworkShop's Fine Etch). Just refresh your G'MIC presets. Played with it and a few other things for this result.

That's an interesting effect. I would love to see the original colour version on an overlay layer above it or this version on a value layer above the original.

I really like that Lyle, Your lonely little Petunia has travelled a lot of miles. I must refresh my GMIC... I don't think I have this person in my arsenal.( garagecoder).

EDIT: found it: Image

OK, Erisian; here's an attempt at a blend. And yes Molly, I still like using my little flower to test different things. As a side note, the pot's still yielding a lot of them. :)

Very cool, I like the transparency in the leaves. I will play with it more later.

That's beautiful - that's the effect I was looking for. Actually, it would make good denim in light blue.

Congrats to Garagecoder ! He has learnt to create G'MIC filters in a very short time, and I must admit I'm very impressed by this one. The community of G'MIC filters' coder is growing, and you cannot imagine how happy I am to see that kind of stuffs appearing !

I just can't get mine to look like yours Lyle. I tried messing with all the settings...my flower doesn't seem to get the texture yours does. Do you remember your settings or did you do something else to it besides that filter? :teeth

Here's the settings that I started out with Molly. Again, I did some additional enhancements (masking and such) afterwards, but I think dropping the low and high sliders is the trick you are looking for. :)

I love yours Molly. That is beautiful! It's amazing what can be done with different layer modes. I like yours too Rod - makes Wilber look more casual.

Two duplicate layers, threshold Etch on grain merge and the other on saturation followed by a levels adjustment.

The new stitching brush would go real well with this effect. :)
Nicely done everyone.
