Well, I did use Rodillus (G'MIC) too. lol
It's been a while since I made a sphere so why not. Created this seamless texture and used it for the result below. :)

I hope the creator of knotter adds svg paths separation so I can do a better job w.r.t. shading, but I'm very happy with knotter. Extreme thanks to MareroQ too for compiling this one for antequated Windows users like myself. lol

:)

You must have a copy of, Ashley Book of Knots then? It's my favorite.

Just remember; all these programs are just tools. Up to the end user to figure out alternative realities for their use AnMal. :)

This one's a Droste Bauble variation. Didn't need a seamless texture since I used Droste. Also found a better way to create the truss work using a dynamically rotating artificial shamrock brush before the Rodillus organic flow step (really like GIMP 2.8's rotating brush attribute feature). :)

Thanks 2-ton; used a radient gradient mask which was intended to blur the center of the back part but not so the sides to give the DOF for a better 3D depth. :)
