Most here forgot including nearly me. Of course I have to post something to celebrate of one of my favorite irrational numbers. ![]() ![]() |

As a side note, I chose symbol for font but it didn't work in GIMP. I had to use Window's Paint (then resized the bitmap in GIMP since 72 is the largest character) to get the pi symbol. What gives? I won't report yet another bugzilla in GIMP so, if there's one that already exists or if someone else can confirm this font issue, please let me know. ![]() |

Thanks AnMal. Still concerned about the font issue; thought I heard a blurb about this in the recent past (one reason I decided not to add to the bugzilla), but maybe I'm just imagining this. Anyway, thought I would combine fibonaci (Droste) with the pi to get this result. ![]() ![]() |

@Lyle: Re-fonts I think you're remembering this thread, and it was you that found the bugzilla for it: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5396&start=10#p67939 And speaking of pi: Measuring Pi with pies Kevin |

Technically it's "Pi Approximation Day." pi =/= 3.14 ![]() |

Since I used the symbol, it's the exact number Merrak. lol As a side note, decided (and did so earlier but forgot to post it here) to upload the seamless texture at Deviant. ![]() http://lylejk.deviantart.com/art/Pi-Day-359461677 |

Didn't see your video post (way too focused on the font issue when I responded to you Kevin; even added to the bugzilla thread my disdain a few minutes ago. lol). Enjoyed the video. ![]() |

Shouldn't Pi day be on the 22nd of July (22/7) as the fraction is more exact than the accepted decimal equivalent

Graechan wrote: Shouldn't Pi day be on the 22nd of July (22/7) as the fraction is more exact than the accepted decimal equivalent In the US 22 July would be written 7/22, or "Reciprocal of pi day". In one of my classes, we have a few international students who didn't know why pi was 143 in the US. I had to explain all about varieties of date formats so everyone knew what was up. I told them that in Europe, pi day would be April 31 because that would be written 31/4 - and to celebrate, I would bring everyone a homemade pie on April 31. I hope they're not disappointed they won't get a pie from me - but it's for the best. I can't cook pies at all. |

Thanks, Wallace. Now we still have the Ides (that would be today) and, of course, St. Patty's to look forward to. ![]() ![]() |

lylejk wrote: Well; not such an original idea but at least something. lol ![]() I missed my Sunday pieeee! Does it mean you have to wait 364.242199 days to have the next one? Lyle it's fine, but I can't give you 10 out of 10 because Akira Haraguchi used a very long Archimedean Spiral ![]() https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akira_Haraguchi |

lolol Like I said, Nidhogg; not an original idea. Works killing any creative I may or may not have had. Need a VaCa. lololololol Still, you have today (Ides) and, of course, St. Patty's Day to get something done. As for me, it's my Friday, so it will be a busy day for me, but then I have the next few days (sans Wednesday for my part-time job which I'm scheduled for) to chill. ![]() |
