Get Fishy (WIP)

Here's a fun little side-project I thought I'd share. Just fish!

Looks like your avatar is looking hungrily at them. Nice work - are you going to put them in a setting of some kind or are you just doing the fish themselves?

He does!

I have a couple backgrounds in mind; I just haven't decided which yet.

merrak: i like your fish a lot! they had enough movement in them to look alive even in your first sketchy post. did you paint them from life?

They're painted using a photo reference. I took some pictures at an aquarium. The real picture is kind of dull-colored since it was dark... but I was able to brighten it up a bit.

Perfect Merrak, the littles fishies look so much more alive when they are in water, they looked pretty dead and dried out before. now they are happy.

They look like oscars or piranhas. If they were striped or bluish, maybe convicts or dempseys. Good job, I miss my fishes.

Glad they look happier

I'm sure they much prefer to be in water than in skillets

I'm not sure what kind they are. The fish I used as a reference were pretty big, about this big: \o/

I need to add more detail. That might help them look puffier.
