Have not been here for a while. 'Vivid' Sydney is a fabulous light show in May on many Sydney buildings ...

Did you use symmetry painting?

level-0 - thanks for your comment. No symmetry painting in this one. Apart from the mermaid which is a pic, the background sky/water is one of my SVG gradients, the waves are created from 3rd party brushes and the rock/sand from my own brushes plush shading. The fountain feature is a BRL from two of my silver metallic e-maps and the gushing water is also made from one of my own brushes, stroked against a curved path.

Hope that answers your question :)

level-0 - Bevel Reflect Logo (BRL) - in my view one of the best/most useful scripts in GIMP. It was created originally by GnuTux who used to own/run this website.

There are many examples of its outcomes on this site including all my clear glass posts. Not sure about its availability from its original source nowadays, but I'm happy to post a copy if you want to try it.

I have a bevel-reflect-logo.scm (45 Kb) that I have never used before because I have not started looking for tutorials yet. ;)

oldmangrumpy, what you call the fountain, I saw it as a jaw of shark ready to close on the mermaid.... ;)

level-0 - that's OK because the meaning of art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder :hehe
