I have said it many times previously how GIMP just amazes me. I was just walking though/learning about some GMIC options when I came across 'contours>difference of gaussians'. So I made some bump maps from it for some WeaveSilk images, just to see what would happen. Then I ran the images through 'lighting effects' with an e-map for colouring - so believe it or not (good name for a TV show!) these are the outcomes from the WeaveSilk images ...

Not sure whether I should put these here or start a new thread, but I am using weavesilk images (yes still) to explore/learn about GMIC functions and currently I am at GMIC>Contours>local orientation.

There are so many options to try out to see what they deliver and once again (no surprise) I was 'gobsmacked' by what turned up from a simple, single colour weavesil download with just one click. Did add some post GMIC tweaks of course.
