No problem, dinasset. I asked the question because the outcomes are sometimes disappointing, for example on images having one or two very bright regions contrasting with the rest of the image, such as bright spots or a very white cloud in a sky with a gradation of dark shades. So if I want a correct result, I will have to act on these areas first..
Edit: Issabella's results are successful, as usual.

What you noticed is correct, I didn't find a solution (at least:not yet), so the user -as you do- has to perform some preprocessing step.
If I find a corrective action in the filter, I will ask you to test it.
Anyway: could you send me one of those images who generate bad results so that I can work directly on that one to search for a solution?

Thanks Issabella. Outcomes are now more consistent (id est: not depending from the output image size requested by the user).

Waiting to get one "difficult" source image from level_0, to see whether I can improve the process.
