Jappaloe63 - no special plugins, no GMIC - just what native GIMP offers, plus a few special brushes that I made or downloaded.

My portrait of a youngish Kate Cebrano, an Australian singer and actress who performs in the soul, jazz, and pop genres. A bit disappointed with this one - did not quite nail it :(

Not bad at all OMG.
You are the second Australian I have met online who has found their portrait artistic abilities in their senior years.
Other one I know only does BW pencil likenesses from photos.
