Jappaloe63 - no special plugins, no GMIC - just what native GIMP offers, plus a few special brushes that I made or downloaded.

Not bad at all OMG.
You are the second Australian I have met online who has found their portrait artistic abilities in their senior years.
Other one I know only does BW pencil likenesses from photos.
