Erisian, Pat and level_0 thank you, I appreciate your kind words.

Using Erisian and his Minotaur as inspiration ...

OMG, that is so scary - and well imaginative! Maybe our creatures can fight each other in a contest?

level_0 and Erisian - thank you both; your work and your comments provide motivation.

This manip is from 6 separate photos. Three, the sky & birds, the ocean and the dolphin, from my recent holiday and 3 third party.

Original idea and I would gladly take the place of nemo :) if I was not so afraid of the water.

Level_0 - thank you; as you seem like 'japonaiserie' in your thread, here are some Japanese sketches.

In keeping with the thread title, here is my attempt at a portrait of Glenn Close, who just happens to be the same age as me.

oldmangrumpy, I right away saw it was Glenn Close without reading your comment... Well done :paint
And I love the fairy-tale outcome of Nemo.

Cool sketch OMG. There are some great Mypaint brushes for hair that might be good for eyebrow texture if you want to experiment. You are getting facial proportions really well now. My techniques have changed a bit since I wrote my tutorial so I might write another one exploring some of the techniques I have tried.

KEEP GOING!

Erisian - thanks for your comments and brush recommendations; yeah that 'hair' thing, sometimes I wish I could make it look real other times I'm OK with it being an 'interpretation'. I got a number of hair tuts/brushes to learn from but seem to prefer creating to learning

This one belies the thread title somewhat (done lots of glass before) but had fun doing it :)

# 235: a confusing look, what message does it want to send us? ;)
# 237: did you use Bevel reflect for your Alice?

Post subject:  Re: Time for something a bit different

level_0 - re # 235 ... what message would you like ... your interpretation will be different from mine :)

Re # 237 - yes, Bevel Reflect Logo (which calls ML Bevel Reflect) with various different glass e-maps plus additional filters/painting.
