OMG: Wow again! I'm so impressed by that hair, how did you do that?! Erisian is impressed too, he's given up on his synth experiments for today and justs sits here yawning beside me, but heshouted "Wow!" when he saw the screen :).

Edit: Oh dear oh dear. You'll be thining Erisian has gone bonkers now! He hasn't, he's sane and clear headed. his silly wife forgot to check that she was logged in before she posted and happened to reply from his account, that's all.

To the combined Anmal/Erisian :hehe - re your question/comments about the hair on my last couple of posts. For long, flowing hair I originally tried some 3rd party hair brushes and tutorials, but I could not get things to look the way I wanted. So I have developed my own approach, first by creating a gray-scale brush of my own and then trying out various ways of stroking paths that form the hair shape, using subtle colour changes for the individual layers. Typically I start with a dark colour base overall, duplicate it and blur it slightly, then add the other lighter colour layers on top.

Never stop learning is my motto!!

That's beautiful OMG. Using a hair brush as a smudge brush can be very helpful too. ;)

Erisian and level_0 - thank you for your comments.

Saw the neon tube thread pop up on the posting list, so had a play with an old favourite ...

Oldmangrumpy: Nice :)! And you're really getting great with hair - does this mean your wife can now get hers done for free? :hehe

Level_0 and Anmal- thanks for your comments and the humour!

Anmal - here are some old fashioned wooden peg dolls, Mr and Mrs Grumpy and you can see Mrs Grumpy certainly does not want a free haircut from Mr Grumpy.

OMG: neat peg dolls! But I don't know about mrs Grumpy's hair, I'd take that over my own any time. :hehe Did you put an kind of texture (apart from patttern) on mrs Grumpy's dress, btw? It looks nicely fabriclike.

Anmal - thanks, but no added texturing on the dress, just pattern first and then light(white)/shade(black) for shaping.

Erisian - wow, thank you for your very kind comments ... please remember you had much to do with fostering my imagination in the first place :)

Back to Trolls ... our little 5 year old granddaughter has been staying with us and she took a picture of one of my Trolls to day care 'show and tell'. Apparently it went down well and she came back home with a request for a 'Grampy Troll' (me that is!!) ...

OMG: You're famous now! I love the Grampy troll, just like one of the trolls from a book series I read as a child. I like the previous image too, was thinking it would make a good album cover.

OMG, so many times with your fantasy stories, people, animals, you have restored my childhood memories of similar creatures or events. I remember one little book about a community of trolls living under a bridge in the country. There was a bridge not far from us so we neighborhood kids would go under the bridge and act out our Troll fantasies. It is so wonderful to visit a carefree time of your life every now and then.

I agree with Pat625.
