level_0 and Anmal - thank you. Princess Vixen told me that one of her little friends from the woods would like to appear in GC; so ...

OMG, you know that from time to time I like to comment a work of yours adding a "suggestion":
on your last creation, I would say:
- nice idea and nice composition, but
- the squirrel looks blurred, while the BG looks focused
If you still have the two components of the collage, I would apply a more stringent focus on the squirrel and maybe apply a distance-blur (a progressive blur from front-end to back-end) to the BG.
What do you think about?

Diego - thanks; as always your eagle eye picks out my problems and you are correct in your observations and suggestions. I did the squirrel from scratch, a difficult and long learning exercise for me and I think I just got so frustrated in the end, shoved it on that woodland background and posted it. Probably should not have done so without more work, especially on that blurry tail! Maybe I should stick with filters and glass :hehe

Oldmangrumpy: Psychotic or not, that squirrel is beautifully painted! I quite liked that the tail is a bit blurry because it makes it look very fluffy and soft. Only make changes if you really want them, I can see what dinasset means with the background being to sharp by contrast, but sometimes it's cool to break the rules. Maybe the squirrel got too close to the camera? He just jumped up from the ground before you clicked the picture, just to make sure he got in it :hehe .

Erisanta, Anmal and level_0 - thank you. Following a lead from Erisian's new odds & sods thread, here is Arwen's necklace from LOR.

Beautiful work. The colours are unusual but work really well and the golden hair is superb. You always do gold really well.

Erisian - thanks; as for colours et al, experimentation and serendipity go hand in hand :hehe

level_0 - thank you ; for the hair in 'portrait' I used a mix of ofn-path-inbetweener and manual path modification, i.e. duplicate path, rotate and modify its curved shape. For 'geisha' I used ofn-path-inbetweener with a guide path parameter option to shape the outcome.
