Thank you Dinasset. I really love the cat!
Issabella, I agree that you really have the artistry for this type of image effect. Your images are beautiful. You do them so quickly! I could never do that many in one day and get anything else done.

Thanks a lot for your kind comments. But I feel quite a lot  I really do anything except to follow the steps from the artists' videos who are so generous to share them. Especially from Chris Fiedler who is a wonderful artist with so much talent.
Thanks for sharing your results and creations in this thread where all of us can enjoy and learn new ideas.
Dinasset, Molly, AnMal, Pat and Ella, Thanks a lot.

I love your results. :hi5 :clap

Wallace, it's a lovely photo. I suppose that a lovely memory, too. :yes Thanks for sharing it.
Here you all have a sequence of images. Perhaps to see the image after having applied the process of each step while the tutorial, could be helpful. :computer_smiley:
The original photo is; 530*790

I couldn't get the effect right at all on this Wikipedia image so I combined aspects of your tutorial Issabella with aspects of another Gimp water-colour tutorial by FreakBits to get the effect I was after:

And changing the edges layer mode gives a water-colour with inked lines effect:

No Dinasset, not me. :hehe
Skinnyhouse, your results are excellent (both)
The important thing it's to be creative and enjoy the process. There are many ways to get nice results in watercolour effect. Thanks a lot for your contribution. :coolthup :tyspin

Well done Dinasset, I like both results, but lighter one it's even more beautiful. :coolthup
Some people need to know the sizes of these photos affected, so they are these:
The upper one 316*416
The medium one 622*436
The bottom one 1560*1247

How time flies - I took the original of this 12 years ago with a tiny digital.
Dinasset: BTW my earlier contribution was intentionally light.
