A really eye-catching image OMG and I know the feeling - now where did I leave my mouse? (Hope it's not in the dish-washer again!)

Another portrait of a sporting hero from my youth, Richie Benaud. He was an outstanding all round cricketer in the 50s and 60s and went on to become the doyen of all cricket commentators.

I borrowed the cricket jumper and the Sydney Cricket Ground Members Stand (background) but the rest is all mine. Just got to love Gimp!!

Had a bit of a play with this sketch portrait, going back to my Celtic roots – here is an album/CD cover featuring a fantasy singer (Croia) and a fantasy location (Navalon).

Cartoon portrait of a fairy princess, obviously in awe of whatever it is she is holding.

Still playing with different styles of portrait images and different ways to create them - here is one using BRL with a couple of metallic e-maps.

The metallic BRL one is interesting. To me it looks more like a mask, the eyes are portraiture but the rest is sculpted. 'Artistic license' means you can do whatever you want of course. Metallic sculpture is expensive and hot work in the real world, a perfect use for Gimp :)

My portrait of Virginia Wade, the English tennis player and another sporting hero from my younger days.

An experimental fantasy portrait trying to work out redheads with both freckles and plaits. I created a brush for the plaits but it needs to be reworked to get the right 3D effect. Still, I give myself B+ for trying, but much more practice needed.

:hi5 :clap Great OMG! how good you got the plaits. It's always a pleasure to see your creations. I love them. :clap

Issabella - you are too kind; thank you.

Working on the basis that less can be more; made a piece of cloth as background, then a sketch.
