The same animation after running "Filters->Animation->Optimize (for GIF)". Instead of being 8.5MB,it is 520KB (makes me suspect that the original animation should be under 2MB if optimized).

When I ran this filter, it produced a second image consisting of the animated stars and the background.
Is the background supposed to be combined with the star animation layers, or is it done some other way. Because when I combine the background with the other layers, the file is over 7MB in weight.
I think I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks! I created the video from Wallace's animation using GAP.

I just updated the video to YouTube and dumped DailyMotion, which was bombing us with ADs. Hopefully, YouTube will be better. You have to click on settings in Full Screen mode and select 720p to get Full HD video.
