During this evening (to conclude my Gimp day) I worked of images of trees.
For this kind of images I used the default preset.

Not quite happy (hope Issabella will find a more appropriate preset).
Discarded half of the results.

Beautiful Dinasset results. :jumpclap

I go freely and completely guided by intuition. I also like to try other presets and very rarely throw away any results.
I think that the user chooses the options according to their preferences, and they get a good outcome.
In short, it is a gem of a filter. :yes

Continuing on experiments for people.
Preset (True,0,8) but changing the layer mode of the final layer (Sketch) to LUMINANCE.
For those who like light drawings.
