wasn't sure where to post this so i posted it here. I was just bored and found this how to on line and figured heck i would make one lol....

The metal ring could benefit from a little smoothing.
I think you could have posted this to Gimp Art. What does UGA stand for?

Are you sure that you had Adaptive Supersampling checked when applying the gradients?

The reflection ellipse should be a bit lower. It is too close to the metal ring, and and as such its top would be reflecting the inner edge of the ring, which is in the shadow. Yes, the mistake is in the tutorial :)
