Cool. Now I understand what you wanted - a brush that turns. Jelly bean text is fun! :yes

I see ofnuts came up with a solution. I spent some time making a rotating brush and I'm going to post it anyway. It's a grayscale image and will take on the foreground color. Also, you can do random color in Dynamics and the active gradient will color it.

I tried and tried to get it to rotate clockwise but nothing I did in GAP made a difference. I had to refresh my GAP knowledge since it's been some time since I've been in there.

If you start from the bottom and paint up with it it will do clockwise. It's a large brush and will need resizing in the brushes dialog; spacing can be changed also.

How about cheating w/ DAP. Well, I did do some post processing in GIMP (not to mention created the target in GIMP; lol). :)

Cool one conbagui.
@Oregonian, does it only use 3 colours in a gradient. My gradient has at least 6 colours but only the first 3 are used. From the beginning of a line, First colour then second and third only from then on.

Here is one I did with a rainbow gradient with sharp (not blended) edges and all of the colors showed up in the stroked circle of jellybeans. I did try it with some other blended gradients of more than 3 colors and I got more than 3 colors.
I'm attaching the sharp rainbow gradient for you to try.

Don't expect the brush to do the colors in the same order as the gradient. I have never seen any of them do that.

I downloaded it and it worked fine.

I was lazy and just stroked the path with the brush you provided before.

I like the simplistic style more than anything else.

Great job conbagui!
Have you figured out how to achieve exactly the same result with the path stroke?

@Lyle Looks good! Were the gaps inside letters made on purpose?

Just a consequence of DAP. DAP avoids white areas and the rendered text had them so when the jelly belly's were auto-placed, it avoided those areas. :)

Thanks Sallyanne.

To O, you really only need to make a single image gbr brush (which I did) since GIMP can handle the orientation (rotation) now with dynamics. Thanks for the the brush by the way. :)

They look really nice, Lyle. Wish I could figure out how to do that on a greyscale brush.

This is a gradient I made from the 'borders' pallette.
Is that why i am only getting a couple colours of it?

Just created a custom brush dynamic that I call color track O; easy-peasy. :)

Whoa! Totally cool. Thank you, Lyle.

I've attached the brush I made and used with Lyle's Dynamic.
It's a greyscale, black Jelly Belly jellybean. Not animated.

Coolies O.
Figured what I was doing wrong. I have to stroke slower and I have to stop after the gradient finishes. Then it all happens properly.

Cool brush O; only issue is the whites in the middle are transparent (not a problem with white background, but other backgrounds yes). I wonder if there's a way to force gimp to only make the outside of the brush transparent?. :)

The brush is a grayscale brush and Gimp makes everything that is white transparent. Unfortunately, if the brush is not grayscale, when you use the Dynamics to color the brush, the white shading is colored too so that the brush is solid instead of having shading.

@Conbagui - yes, jelly beans are kind of like playing in the sandbox. Lotsa fun. :hehe
