Thanks Molly.
It was quite the undertaking. I needed to auto crop each layer as they were done, to reduce the overall weight of the image during it's creation, in order to keep the file size to a minimum while working on it and keep my Gimp from crashing while creating it.

I see that it is quite an undertaking, it is also quite a challenge. I am going to try it and see if I can do any justice to it. Is that okay, I will use different colors...

Beautiful. But it must have taken forever! Did you have to do each little diamond separately? And how did you make every diamond with the point at the top???

Thanks 2-ton, it did take me a while, but certainly not forever. :hehe

Well done Wallace, it's flawless. :wow Can you make a tut? I will like to have that in my archives. :bigthup

Thank you Conbagui.
As soon as I receive my new headset, I'll put a tutorial together on this one. ;)

I finally got through mine and it doesn't stand out like Wallace's so I guess I should have used different settings for the triangles. Anyway, it was fun... thanks Wallace

one more...the outside edges are ragged due to the poor line-art edges.

Thank you but I am disappointed in the rough edges due to the poor line art I used. SVG files are much better and cleaner for this kind of thing.

@ Molly - I did an alpha to selection on the line art on mine, saved it to path, then stroked the path. It came out much nicer.

Here is mine. You guys did such a nice job on yours, I'm almost embarrassed to post mine, but not quite. Can't seem to get the great shaping you all did. I found a simple mandala in an image search.

Nicely done Molly! :jumpclap
There isn't much of a trick to doing these. I did find that I had to change the colors I used quite a bit, to get the shape I was after. I also redid the Mandala I used due to the same issue of poor lines, it was a mess.

Thanks Conbagui. :bigthup
I won't be doing any tutorials/videos for at least a week or so. I'm waiting for the new headset I ordered to arrive. I could make a text tut, but I feel it would be more work to making a text tutorial than a video tutorial.

very nice, nice vivid colors
most of my problems is the mess in between the lines that we can't see. I also send it to path and stroke it again from there. I also did a search for mandella line art but as Wallace says there is a work around they he will probably share with us. :teeth
I am working on another one now... sucker for punishment

There really isn't a work-around for this. The only way to get nice clean lines would be to recreate the Mandala using paths, that's what I did, which was a lot of work.
