ok, thanks yes it would be a big undertaking to fix all those lines, in a small one it would be quite easy.

You guys are making some very cool graphics in this thread.
To getting a cleaner path from a jpeg or png black and white line drawing, try inkscape.
1. Open the line drawing in Inkscape, select the image.
2. Path | Trace Bitmap (use Edge detection, Colors: 2), OK.
3. Close Trace Bitmap dialog, save as SVG.
4. Open in Gimp, select import paths.
TIP: Check first Gimp Paths dialog, remove any unnecessary paths.

That sounds good Odin, but I am not one bit familiar with Inkscape. I will try it but I don't guarantee anything.

That worked like a charm Odin, thanks for this suggestion.
I don't use Inkscape much, therefor didn't think to do this and wouldn't have know how anyway.

If you have Inkscape, these basic instructions are all you need to know. It might not be needed for all line drawings, but it's worth exploring as an option for cleaner paths. :)

It certainly beats trying to trace out these designs in Gimp.
