Not been posting much but I have been lurking and I am very impressed with the posts and output for this wonderful forum.

I have a lot going on in life at the moment, not stuff I would like to share on an open forum but do remember my family in your prayers, Thanks.

So, I haven't been on gimp for months, due to lack of inspiration and other issues, decided today that some gimp therapy was needed. Not really knowing what to create I resorted to my choice of gimp doodling and created a tileable abstract. Pleased with how all the playing turned out.

Hi He4rty, glad you stopped by. Nice tileable design, that would have many uses.
Have a look at my Mandala thread.
I found creating these images to be very therapeutic for me and you might too.
My thoughts are with you and yours.

He4rty. Lovely design, lovely colours. I am intrigued with the underlying subtle noise patterns, which appear different in each quadrant. Also, did you choose the base colours or did you use a colour generator. The reason I ask that is if you display your design in b/w they are very even in weight or shades of grey.
Cheers

Thanks for the comments.

Just to answer a few questions
1. The colours where all derived from the blue shade, I just adjusted the hue to give an even spread along the spectrum.
2. The underlying noise pattern was created by setting a realistic paper pattern as a layer mask, with the layer below I experimented with black, white and mid grey but all worked just as good, in the end I decided to use a cloud layer to give some colour variation to the masked layer.
