This has to be one of the most time consuming and detailed images I've done using the BRL script.
I thought I'd never get through it, but here it is.

Wonderful image and the colouring really suits the subject matter.

Absolutely astounding. It would make a beautiful piece of jewelry.

:bigthup Wallace :bigthup I can see the amount of detail you have put into this and it's all because of a plugin whose developer may have thought had no more potential, but GnuTux thought otherwise so he wrote a script-fu to interface with it
now BRL Art is part of the vernacular

I was thinking of using the making of this BRL Owl image, as a base for a tutorial on how to use BRL to create images, but I'm not sure if I should go through with this.

You could Wallace but I think that would be quite an undertaking because I see a lot of detail in there and it is more than just the BRL involved for example that chain or cable thing and lots of other little details. Anyway it is up to you but it is so very professional and perfect, you are very knowledgeable with Gimp, to say the least.
Were you talking a video tutorial with your new microphone or a text tute?

A video tut.
I would only use the Owl image as a base. This wouldn't be a tutorial about how to make the Owl image, only how I went about it and the main steps that were involved. So I wouldn't be going into every little detail.

Go for it Wallace. I for one will appreciate it, and I know others will too.

I need to give it more thought.

Thanks Tux. :bigthup
My only wish would've been, that I could have run BRL on multiple layer when I was creating this image.
