Haven't done one of these in a while. Got a brain fart so pretty much revamped my flow. :)

That is beautiful. Love the depth. It's almost as if each leaf is a separate tree.

Thanks MarFisk. Though I changed my flow some, for the most part, it is as I outlined it in the XCF file where you can get it at the below thread. :)

edit:

And why not another one; not as big. :)

Thanks. I'll take a look and see if I can understand it from the XCF :).

I like the bright red on this.

They look a little like blown glass ornaments :).

That looks terrific Lyle - so I have downloaded your XCF file to have a look and play.

In your referenced thread you state " Also, you will need ACE ..." - forgive my ignorance but just what is ACE?

Adaptive Contrast Enhancement filter.

32-bit: http://photocomix-resources.deviantart. ... -102411734

64-bit: Samj did compile it for 64-bit; hope she doesn't mind if I share that plugin here since she no longer hosts this one as far as I can find it and it's not been hosted at GIMPChat either that I could find. If it is, please let me know and I'll remove it. :)

Great images Lyle! I don't think I have ever seen the Ace plug-in before, but it looks like something to play with. I will have to check it out.

EDIT: I must have seen it before because I have it already. I'm only just getting back to gimping again.

Thanks. I was going to ask. And you expanded my horizons...well, to google translate ;). The instructions are in French.

I'm not aware of it being attached anywhere here either.

I compiled it for Linux_x64, if anyone is interested (Menu: Filters/Colors/Adaptive Contrast).

Thanks Mark. Way too lazy to make a formal tutorial, but I created this PDF with my updated flow to create these. Still, it requires more nuance then rote steps. I believe it could be automated in G'MIC, but doubt there's a demand for doing so. lol

:)
