Hi,

If you are interested, I would like to know how you will design this logo and what challenges, if any, you will have encountered. My challenge was mainly due to lack of diagonal guides and figuring out how to make the final rap/over-lay with a shadow.

Good luck.

Joseph

Looks like a interesting challenge. Kinda reminds me of the Celtic Knot Challenge

Yours seems to be a little off center at the top? Or is that the way it is supposed to look?
Pretty nice looking though.I like that you colored the shadow a bit.

Not the way it's supposed to look. You probably can see also that even the shape itself is out of proportion. And the shadows spill out in some places.

Thanx Rod.

Here's my go at it.
I did have issues with moving the paths I used into the proper position to create the three shapes needed.
I also had issues with the settings for the 3 drop-shadows.

Hi,

You're right on it Wallace! Those two are the exact issues I had in my workflow.

Great work and thanx for giving it a try.

Sure no problem.
There is a script that can create a diagonal grid, but I haven't use it. So I can't be sure how well it might work to help create such a shape.
Here is the link, if you would like to have a look.

Yes and why not?
When I made the shadows going all in the same direction, some were darker and other were lighter. I wanted the shadows in the folds to be more pronounced.
I understand that if the light source is form above and to the left. All the shadows should follow, but I was only trying to reproduce what the original image looked like and not worry about where the light sources is coming form.

Were you guys using combinations of Selection masks composed out of channels for the shadows?

That is another way the shadows could have been done, but I didn't do it that way. I just removed parts of the shadows by making selections and erasing what wasn't wanted.
