I primarily use Linux, and use Amiga themes most of the time, because I like the old school look and feel of the OS. One thing still missing though - an Amiga wallpaper that matches my personal preferences. I've been meaning to create wallpapers in general for some time now, so no better time than now to make a start.

I was a bit lost as to how the Amiga boing ball logo could be created with Gimp, and after several failed trial and errors I had my doubts. Then I followed a tutorial for the base logo, which meant that I could create it to remarkable accuracy. Turns out Gimp was more powerful than what I thought. For the wallpaper design, I had 2 versions in mind. Here's both, all created from scratch with Gimp 2.8:

Second version:

* I'm using this thread for all wallpapers created with Gimp from scratch by me.

Not a wallpaper this time, but an animated splash screen for Gimp:

Another wallpaper for a different derivative Puppy Linux distro:

I've also created a desktop theme for this distro, also created with Gimp:
