I haven't made any spaces wallpapers/art in a while.
So I thought it was due time.
I posted it using the thumbnail code,
because it was rather large.

I would also like to mention that using the thumbnail code when posting images.
Helps them load much faster.
I'm hoping,
(fingers crossed... Image)
that our member might utilize this posting code/feature more often.

I used a few of the most recently posted tutorial as well as filter,
that our Gimp Chat scripter's/coders were gracious enough to create and make available for us.

Here's the .xfc file,
if anyone it interested in checking it out.

Wallace, that is absolutely stunning. I added the xcf to my "Tutorials" folder since I expect to learn from it. Thanks for sharing.

Anybody know how spacehead did the nebula in the top left of the piece in the OP? I've been trying to get that nebula-y look for months and just can't figure it out.

Thanks Sasquatch.

It's not perfect,
by any means.
I think the Blue planet,
could have used a bit more shadowing.
I always struggle with shadowing.

Don't know about spacehead...
People come and go,
but I'm grateful that some of the most talented Gimper I know,
are still with us.

I understand the struggle. There are quite a few issues I struggle with. I don't think there's a single piece I've posted so far that I don't look at and wonder why I thought it was worth sharing. :hehe

There is an amazing amount of talent on this board. I hope to one day be worthy of inclusion. Not selling myself short. I'm proud of how much I've improved since joining. However, I recognize the difference between my basic competence and the mastery displayed by others.

I know how you feel...
the only sound advice I can offer you in regards to this,
would be to practice, practice, practice...

And of course tune in regularly here to Gimp Chat.

Have not been into space for a while so thought I would go to the purple planet last night and also try out the 'thumbnail' recommendation from Wallace; busy time up there too :)

Well, I'm a complete dummy and I post my artwork, I think Sasquatch if you take an image of waves crashing in a dark sea and alpha to color to keep just the spray that works for space dust, and Wallace you gave me an idea to use emaps for planets, thank you.

That's a clever idea. Dust and nebulae are currently beyond my grasp. That's why I like this place. We all learn from each other here.
