Hi 2-ton - well yes it is, because at 7,692,024 km2 Australia is the planet's sixth largest country after Russia, Canada, China, the USA, and Brazil and much of it is desert. Basically in the comparative map below, the floods happened inside the blue circle and the area inside the yellow line is desert!
