Using a "for reuse with modification" image I ran a G'MIC filter on this.

Doing this shows me just how much I don't know about photo editing. So many ideas that I can't do! I went with simple. By the way, where is the filter to make an array like this? There used to be one that I thought was in Gmic, and you could make it stretch way back to nothing, and in any direction. I could not find it. I am always losing where the filters are stashed!

Only thing I can think of is perspective.....maybe by change the sliders? Otherwise you may have to wait for an answer from someone who actually knows

Some very cool interpretations this week! So many ways to interpret tanned skin. Next RAP will likely be the last one before summer.

IIRC, it used to be a GMic filter under Arrays. But I don't have it anymore.

Starting from June 26, 2016 is:

summer days are gone.

Yep, the randomizer was very thematic (if a little early) with this one! This is also the last RAP I'll put up in a while - the RAP is taking a break over summer.

Good luck!

(click for DA version)

I choose to interpret this prompt as her dreaming about the summer days being gone. Trolls are less durable against heat than against cold. ;)

Interesting Prompt. Not sure if I'll be able to contribute tho. :(
My laptop decided to die on me over a week ago and I'm using my mother's atm. D:

Time to restart this again.
Image
Starting from Saturday Feb 4:

The leaves are falling.

Here is a reminder of the very light "rules" of the RAP, copied from the first post in the thread:
  • Every week I go to magatsu.net/art for a "random art prompt". It can be anything from a single word to a short sentence. Your job and mine is to, inspired by this prompt, make an image until next week.
  • You can interpret the art prompt any way you want. There is no right or wrong and no competition.
  • Post your result as a reply in this thread (you can of course also post it elsewhere). It's fun (but not mandatory) if you explain briefly how the prompt inspired you. It's also nice if you give a friendly comment on other entries.
  • If you don't finish until I post the next prompt, no worries - just post when you are done, noting which prompt it goes with. Or better - post what you've got and remember the lessons until next image!
  • Your work could be a doodle, a quick sketch, a partial or full work, all goes.
  • You can use any art technique (painting, drawing, photography, filters, collages, photo-manipulations etc). You can use any program or even scan your traditional artwork.
  • The only real requirement is that you make new art based on the given prompt - rehashing old stuff defeats the point of this exercise!

@sallyanne

Very surreal! Yet clearly following the theme. It reminds me a little of finger paint in structure. :)

@dinasset

The lines across the sky adds a bit of an omnious feeling to this image, almost claustrophobic despite the original being a sunny day and probably quite bright. A cool effect.
